JEE Mains Counselling 2024
The Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA) conducts online JEE Main counselling for students who have cleared the JEE Mains examinations to secure seats in prestigious engineering colleges in the country.
The schedule of JEE Main counselling is announced by the officials. However, seeing the past trends, JoSSA has released the date of the JEE Mains Counselling registration. the JoSAA JEE Main counselling commencement on 10 June 2024.
Interested candidates can register to participate in the six-round JEE Mains counselling through JoSAA on the online portal of JoSAA. After the JoSAA counselling event, the CSAB event will be announced to fill up the remaining seats in the colleges, where candidates have to register again to participate in the CSAB counselling.

Eligibility for the JEE Main Counselling 2024
Candidates willing to participate in upcoming JoSAA JEE Mains counselling can check their eligibility to register for the counselling from the following eligibility criteria:
- The candidates who appeared and qualified for the JEE Main 2024 examinations conducted by NTA.
- Candidates with a rank of JEE Advanced can enroll in IITs.
- Candidates must have cleared the class XII examination from a recognized board and scored at least 75% in PCM (65% for SC/ST candidates).

JoSSA JEE Main 2024 Counselling Procedure
The candidates wishing to participate in JEE Mains counselling must be aware of the procedure of counselling to understand the steps.
- Registration for the JEE Main Counseling on the JoSAA
- Preference in choices of colleges and courses.
- Mock seat allotment to help the candidates understand which seats will be allotted to them based on their choices, so they can change their preference accordingly.
- Final Seat allotment based on merit, JEE rank & score, category, availability of seats, and selected preferences.
The JoSAA counselling has six rounds of counselling, giving candidates enough time to enroll in their desired colleges. After the final seat allotment, candidates can choose from freeze, float, or slide options.
The seat allotment options, freeze means locking your seat, float means you wish to explore other institutes in further rounds of allocation when you are satisfied with the allotted seats, and slide means you accept the seat but are okay with admission into a highly preferred degree program in the same allotted college.
Registration Procedure for the JEE Main Counseling
Candidates seeking admission to prestigious engineering colleges can follow the below steps to apply for JEE Mains counselling:
- Go to the official JoSAA website mentioned above.
- Look for New Registration on the JoSAA webpage.
- Now, enter your JEE Main application number, password, and pin on the login page.
- Next, read the instructions carefully and tick the “I Agree” option.
- Now, you can access the counselling application form and enter all the required details carefully.
- Next, confirm the registration and lock in your details on the portal.
There is no fee for registration, but the candidates have to pay the seat acceptance fee when they wish to lock their allotted seats. The candidates will fill out the preferences for colleges in the next stage of the application before the deadline.
After locking the seats, the candidates must report to the assigned reporting center for document verification. After receiving approval, the candidates must pay the tuition at the designated college within the authority-scheduled time frame.
