Stimulus checks payment in USA

USA government has provided stimulus checks payment in three times after 2020 to reduce the financial burden of the low income residents in the country. 

1. The first stimulus check under the CARES Act in March 2020 provided $1,200 per eligible adult and $500 per qualifying child. Distributed from April 2020, it targeted individuals earning up to $75,000 annually ($150,000 for joint filers), with reduced amounts for higher incomes.
2. The second stimulus check followed under the Consolidated Appropriations Act, 2021. This payment was smaller, offering $600 per adult and $600 per qualifying child. Issued in late December 2020 and early January 2021, it targeted similar income thresholds but phased out faster for those with higher earnings. This check helped families during the challenging winter months of the pandemic and economic uncertainty. 
3. The third stimulus check was introduced under the American Rescue Plan Act in March 2021. This payment provided $1,400 to each eligible adult and dependent, including older dependents like college students and disabled adults. The eligibility criteria were slightly adjusted, maintaining the $75,000 income cap for individuals and $150,000 for joint filers but with stricter phase-out limits.

Apart from such payments, individuals have not received any one time payment at Federal level from the authority yet in 2024.
